Alright... which one of you did it?
Who's the bastidge that put a hex on me?
Spare machine that I'm using for 2 specific tasks decides to go belly up with HD problem.
OK, no problem, got a spare 2.4G drive here that I can use to replace the 2.5G drive that shit the bed. I'll have to reload W2K, but no big deal. Only problem is.....
....that drive also has some sort of issue as well!
Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck fuck!!!!
Well, off to find some surplus 6G or less drives on the web....
Son of a bitch!!!

Nope.
Pulled a third drive from another machine and no problem.
The other 2 were spinning up and thunking, spinning up and thunking. Not a good sign.

When you find a source
send me a link...I could always use a few 2 gig drives. I can get by with a 5 or 6 gig drive, partitioned with Partition Magic.

I see you have the same problem.
Some of the machines here are so old they would probably choke on any drive bigger than 4G.

Update. Minor victory.
The things you find in the most unlikely places.
Found a loptop 6G HD that I had stuffed in a box. It was purchased many years ago as an upgrade of an old IBM laptop that I never did get around to.
Fortunately, I have an adapter that will allow me to use it in a regular desktop case. Formatting as I type this.....
