New Opportunity stuck in Mars dune, trying to get out
I put together some frames for a thumb animation with Gif Construction Set of Oppy trying to get out of dune:

Scientists suggested that it would take several different movements before results are seen, based on Earthbound mock-up tests. First they are just creating "work areas" for the wheels it seems.

You can see that it seems to be making more progress at the end of this movie. Then again, the frame frequency may have also changed. The strategy is to go back using the path it came in on. The jerky shadows are caused by daily sun cycles. This is several day's worth of frames.
