Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Isn't a new install still a problem?
E.g. If one bought a copy of Warp 4 off of eBay, one would still need to do some magic with the install floppy (e.g. getting the latest danis506 package, etc.) if one wanted to put it on a new PC with, say, a SATA hard drive, wouldn't one?

Do you know if eCS is friendlier in this regard?

I've got a copy of Warp 4 and eCS v1.1 (I think) that I've never installed because I didn't want to take the time to try installing them on my Athlon machines. My last OS/2 machine was a Pentium 233.

Thanks.

Cheers,
Scott.
(Who used OS/2 from ~ June 1992 until ~ October 2001 and still misses it in some ways...)
New Yes, you do need to update floppy #1 . . .
(of the 0,1,2 set) but it's real easy to do. As for eCS, it should be right up to date on that. Unless they've changed in the recent release you get an eCS install if you boot on the first CD, an OS/2 Convenience Pack install from the second CD, both of which recognize large hard disks. I don't know about SATA yet.
