Looking for discards.
I have an empty ATX case looking for a no-longer-used MB/CPU. Anybody got one they'd like to unload?
I'm looking for ATX form factor, minumum Pentium II/III up to AMD Duron capabable, and can take 128MB DIMMs (PC100 minimum). If it has a CPU and fan, that's even better.
I've got memory, video, etc., just looking for an orphaned MB with no place to go.

Find your nearest computer recycling center
The center near me is packed to the gills with old hardware, which they'll happily sell you for small numbers of dollars. Much of it is cast-off from the dot-com bust, which means it's back two generations, but it sounds like that's what you're looking for.

You were a tad too late for me
The one machine being freed up is PPro class. Not quite ready for you. The only p2 class machine I have is a laptop..I suppose you could bolt it into the case if you had to.
I may have a mb/processor combo though, I can't remember if I saved the MB or not. I know I have 2 p2 processors. One is a 300. The other, a 266 IIRC.
I have some memory too. Again...no idea of what or how effective. If you don't come up with something pre 7/2...we can dig through the crawlspace and load you up.

Re: You were a tad too late for me
Well, the 2 biggest parameters are ATX and takes a miniumu of PC100 memory.
I'll wait another couple of days, then it's off to the surplus places on the web. I don't have the time or inclination to find and rummage thru a recycle center.

Jim, I have an Asus A7A266 mobo you could have.
I did not chime in earlier because it is a mobo only. Memory and processor moved on in an upgrade.
[link|http://usa.asus.com/prog/spec.asp?m=A7A266&langs=09|A7A266] can use an Athlon or Duron but has a max speed of 1 GHz. Check it out. If it will do, send me your address at my IWeThey usedID at carolina.rr.com.

Unfortunately....
.... I have not one single MB around here that takes a Intel processor. Went AMD a long time ago. The one Alex is sending is also AMD.
