Why should I have to; when did this become the new standard?

We didn't use to post the answers to specific questions in the same thread that announced the quiz they're from, AFAICR. Why did everyone have to go and do that now? I don't get it.

As far as the posting of answer goes though, I don't really remember it one way or the other. I guess that's because if it looked as if I might like it I always tried it before reading on and if I didn't care to take it seeing the answers wouldn't have made much of an impression.
