New Can you hear me now?
[link|http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2005/04/16/BUGJ1C9R091.DTL|Verizon CEO sounds off on Wi-Fi, customer gripes]
Seidenberg, for instance, said people often complain about mobile phone service because they have unrealistic expectations about a wireless service working everywhere. Verizon Wireless, a joint venture of Verizon and Vodafone, is the state's largest mobile phone provider.

"Why in the world would you think your (cell) phone would work in your house?" he said. "The customer has come to expect so much. They want it to work in the elevator; they want it to work in the basement."
Guess he hasn't seen his own commercials. For those not in the US - the commercial has a Verizon guy going all-over-the-place asking "can you hear me now?" to somebody on the other end of the cell phone connection.

New If you're going to sell it as a land-line replacement...
... it had better damn well work in the house. Which mine does. Although I haven't tried it in the basement.

Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Crapshoot
New Particularly in stores and/or office buildings
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail ... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"
New Used to be like that here years ago
Now pretty much all big offices, shops, and underground railway stations have their own low-power cell equipment.
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Mine works just about everywhere except . . .
. . . in server rooms which is where I actually need it.
