Sin City
Engrossing stories.
Visually stunning.
As I remember it, my mind moves between the real fimed version and a cartoon/animated version that is running in my brain, and I never read the comic books (oops, sorry, "graphic novels"), so I guess the goal of invoking the comic worked.
Not for the squeamish or prudish.
Hit you hard, early on, and keeps you.

Brilliant cinematography
Decent acting. A bit on the violent side for me.

Took my two teens to it last night
They loved it. Somewhat disturbing, with everything over the top. Visually it was a definite work of art. Could swear I smelled the stench of the yellow bastard. My boys definitely enjoyed it, though it gave me some strange dreams.

Good stuff, saw it last night
I've read the first graphic novel, which covers Marv's storyline. The scenes were very well done, I often felt like I was rereading the novel.

Suck City
Okay, it wasn't awful, and I could see why people would like it, but the violence was over the top, and the dialog just went one notch too far in the 'campy' direction.
Oh, and Susan fell asleep for about 10 minutes.
