Well, you knew you had to leave there. It would have been better if it was by your choice and not theirs. And, I am sorry you seem to have little financial margin for this setback.

The new year typically comes with new budgets and new "headcounts". I hope you can latch on to something with the new year.

Thanks all for your kind comments and praying for me or thinking about me, whatever you do that helps me.

I will survive and find a new job, I know that to be true.

The company I worked for already has two classified job ads in the local Sunday paper so they planed this well in advance. I guess they want to hire programmers at a lower salary than I had been paid? I wonder who the next programmer they will downsize will be, as they have two advertisements? Oh yeah they are merging with another lawfirm, and the lawyers and HR are taking more control of the IT department each day. So basically it is a Dilbert situation already.
