(Dunno where to put this, so I'll double-post here and in "Religion & Metaphysics".)

Your lies are of Microsoftian Scale and boring to boot. Your 'depression' may be the closest you ever come to recognizing truth: you have no 'inferiority complex', you are inferior - and something inside you recognizes this. - [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=71575|Ashton Brown]
New Well-written common sense.
So it doesn't stand 'a popcorns chance in hell' of being applied.

Imric's Tips for Living
  • Paranoia Is a Survival Trait
  • Pessimists are never disappointed - but sometimes, if they are very lucky, they can be pleasantly surprised...
  • Even though everyone is out to get you, it doesn't matter unless you let them win.

Nothing is as simple as it seems in the beginning,
As hopeless as it seems in the middle,
Or as finished as it seems in the end.

New And therein lies the rub.

In today's United States, it's possible for almost anyone \ufffd women, gays, African-Americans, Jews \ufffd to run for, and be elected to, high office. But a professed atheist wouldn't stand a popcorn's chance in Hell.
<<<<<<<<<<<<<

An atheist cannot be elected because the majority woun't vote for him/her. The only way around that problem is to install an "enlightened" dictatorship.

Well, we all know how well the dictatorships work in Midle East. Saddam's regime was thoroughly secular almost to the end (near the end, he adopted some religious rethorics - any port in a storm). It takes a dictator of the most brutal sort to keep religion out of politics in a religious country.

And what are we doing when the two most powerful nations on earth -- America and Israel -- stomp on the elementary rights of human beings?
