New EULA insanity in mainstream media
Perhaps the message that these licences are unacceptable is starting to get out?

New Getting to 'general electronics' anyway
I noted a thread in the Tektronix forum re ~ what to do about no-longer supported equipment, content of EPROMs and the like. Eventually someone got around to stuff like the language in Beast-EULAs and similar absurdities. I left a link to a lampoon of the matter, so they might draw their own conclusions re umm agonizing to excess? ie load the sucker with known good code: it's fucking 15+ years out of production and the particular mfg. almost but-not-quite-Officially .. Doesn't Care!

I doubt that the general public however, spends more than a few seconds contemplating the trend and the implications; as with every other creeping corporatism: they will wait for others to bail out their sorry bemused asses. Leaves more time for shopping.

moi,
who hopes that the onslaught of sophisticated Spy-crap like 'headless' VX2? becomes a Deluge, opening up At Last, via even 'public' clamor - liability awards against the Shoddiest Crap ever marketed in such quantities.
