New Why, were you planning something?
Better call it off now. We have learned the lessons of 9-11.

Well, pardon us for winning the election.
New That's right.
"If you're not doing anything wrong, why worry about illegal searches?" You're right, bot. This "freedom" thing isn't all its cracked up to be.

But, on a minor point. You and the FAA have learned fuck all since 9/11. General Aviation (the kind conducted at little airports) was never and will never be the source of terriorist attacks.

New I guess you didn't hear the news today.
[link|http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A33656-2005Mar14.html|Washington Post]:

The nation's aviation system remains vulnerable to attacks by al-Qaida and other terrorists who may be targeting noncommercial aircraft and helicopters, according to a government report.

But officials said the report by the Homeland Security Department and the FBI concludes that commercial airlines also remain susceptible to attack, despite billions of dollars worth of security investments. Moreover, members of al-Qaida are believed to be examining and testing U.S. security systems for weaknesses, officials said.

We may all believe that GA isn't much of a target, but others believe otherwise.

Cheers,
Scott.
New That's just Bush trying to get another boost in the polls.
I have come to believe that idealism without discipline is a quick road to disaster, while discipline without idealism is pointless. -- Aaron Ward (my brother)
New I'm left wondering.
How long before they take all small aircraft away? This is ridiculous. One of the things I liked most about Kerry's campaign is that not one time - not ONE time, did he ever ask for a TFR despite the fact that he was entitled to them.

All anyone needs to know about how unlikely it is for GA aircraft to be targetted by terrierists is to look at what happened to that poor kid in FL. But, don't let's get confused with irrefutable evidence.

The sad thing is that when it comes to liberty and freedom, general aviation is where we still have the rest of world's ass kicked (despite the efforts of the current junta). But I fear its only a matter of time. In the short time that I've been flying there have already been horrendously idiotic "new rules and regulations" involving flight. Three more years of this shit might actually shut down GA for good.

New You have learned nothing of substance
Our "security" is a sham designed to comfort the sheep and strike fear into wannabees. It is nothing more than a minor irritant to the committed professional.

Basically, it is a car alarm and you are the sucker who bought it and are now using it to annoy all your neighbors with BS false alarms.

New Car alarm - good model.
And the first 5? 3? months those were generally available - probably frustrated 37.65 thefts, countrywide.

Our standards of immediately (and perpetually) opting for the Quick Fix (problem? Send in the Marines) guarantees we will vote for Mr. Mesmer every time. Got gangrene in that toe? This magic creme perfectly matches *your* flesh color. All fixed. Your job upsetting your stomach, bunky? (perpetually) - Get $Xanax\ufffd - we'll Show that stupid immune system Who's. Boss. ____for. a. while.

We'd be laughable. If there were no nukes. Or if there weren't thousands of new wannabe pre-adolescent martyrs whom we catalyze, now every fucking DAY for the next 3.8 YEARS.
