All Things Must Pass...
All Things Must Pass
Sunrise doesn't last all morning A cloudburst doesn't last all day Seems my love is up and has left you with no warning It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass All things must pass away
Sunset doesn't last all evening A mind can blow those clouds away After all this, my love is up and must be leaving It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass All things must pass away All things must pass None of life's strings can last So, I must be on my way And face another day
Now the darkness only stays the night-time In the morning it will fade away Daylight is good at arriving at the right time It's not always going to be this grey
All things must pass All things must pass away All things must pass All things must pass away
George Harrison - 1943-2001
Just a few thoughts,

What I feel, I can't say... :-(

It's sad. He was a good guy with a good heart.
Had an amazing car collection too (a McLaren F1 road car among other things).
Cheers, Scott.

Someone tonight summed up
in a tribute, what he saw as George's (say overview) as he grew from the Fab4's youngest into later work. Was a brief video clip of George trying to put that-all into some sort of perspective, and what he thought was important after all,
Who am I? Why am I here? Where am I going?
This after describing the constant activity, how little opportunity to ponder much.. but his being grateful that they were in fact 'a tight bunch' who supported each other, despite the expected periodic arguments about their work.
Hardly original that summation, of course - but at least it wasn't ~ how can I do the next Great Thing? & variations. Another quote about the time of their first US tour, ~ They're using us as an excuse to go mad.. and we have to sit here in a hotel room. We can't go anywhere!
{sigh}
Lots of people of the right age to remember the times, shown on the tube. Seemed oceans of them. (Nevva hoppen when it's Britney's turn. Or Snoop Doggy's either.)
Sorry it had to be the Big C, George. Something in the way .. that moves.

And then there's the other opinion
George Harrison? Who?
Should I give my real opinion?
I'd feel worse if the Curious George books went out of print.
In other words, George Harrison means nothing to me. The Beetles had a couple of songs I liked. I am not in mourning. I will refrain from expressing more disgust.

That must be it
End of a week's vacation and all that.
Hope I still have a job when I go back today.

Frankly, Scarlet.. I don't give a damn
As with those "who don't 'like' Bach": now one knows about them, but what about Bach?
The Beatles were best experienced in context of the times, as a quantum leap in the depth and quality of so-called Popular er 'music'. Since you weren't even a lascivious thought at the time of their birth: you missed it, sonny. Boy did you Miss It.
So you may add this It you didn't get - to that growing list of other Its you have demonstrated, you cannot grok. Dysfunctionality is an impediment which it is best not to mock in others, though - It is its own reward, and you're a Winner there. So to speak.

Hmm... I "grok" it...
Although I was born after their heyday, for some reason I can really get into their music.
And hearing of George's passing made me sad. My wife and I sat down, hauled out some CDs, and listened to a bunch of their music, and then we felt somewhat better - for all die someday, but to achieve what they did is to not waste the gift that we are given, this brief passage through the stream of time...
