New Execute Permission settings in IIS change themselves?!?
Is anybody aware of a problem in MS IISv5 wherein the execute permissions settings (found on the home directory tab of the default web site properties dialog box) change themselves?

We found no evidence of any unauthorized access, and nobody with access has fessed up (I know, I know, but I believe these people, and it IS a M$ product!)

Thanks in advance.

New Frontpage?
About the only time I've seen inadvertent changes to such things is when somebody mucks with the server with FrontPage. It has the sucky tendency to try and mess with a lot of things on the server.
New Do you mean install on or talk to
The server with Frontpage? Nothing on the server was installed or removed.

New Synchronization...
We've had problems in the past where users that synchronized their local copies of Front Page (can also occur with Visual Interdev), and they had the privileges set differently local. The local settings end up overwriting whatever you had set up on the server.

Don't know if it's your problem, but someone using Front Page or Interdev either needs to have their rights restricted or take care that they don't go out and rearrange the server every time they sync up. Me, I don't like any web site authoring tools - preferring the simplicity of text editors and source control.
New Hmmm, interesting
The box in question wasn't our development box, so that shouldn't be a factor, but I'll give it a check. The box is actually our demo box; it crapped out in the middle of a demo. And still I'm the insane one for suggesting our company explore alternatives to M$. Sheesh.

Thanks
