I recently hired a sysadmin.
He spent years at a company, being the primary sysadmin
for a small shop.
This company was aquired by a very large data provider.
This company has been in the news lately, it seems that
has "given up" a huge amount of personal information, and
have been getting some bad press recently.
When they bought this guy's company, they started the
traditional "move the data center to the home office".
During this process, the contact at the home office, ie: the
technical contact, also known as the "linux guru", was
responsible for gathering all the software licenses.
One request struck the sysadmin as very telling.
"Send me your 2 apache licenses for your 2 web servers".
RUN AWAY!!!! NOW!!!!
