Welcome to IWETHEY!

New It's snowing in the UK.
Which does, of course, mean that the entire country indulges in a case of collective selective amnesia over what this white stuff is, what it does, and whether or not we should fail to cope with its presence. (Hint: answer is yes. In spades. Comprehensively. I drove past a gritter on the way to work this morning. Clue for gritters: you need to get there about an hour BEFORE me. This was at 7AM).

New So you *should* fail to cope??
You may want to rethink your wording...

Incidentally, WTF is a "gritter"? Is that just your nickname for a truck that is laying down sand/salt?

Cheers,
Ben

New You're so amusingly serious :-)
Of course we should fail to cope; that way, we can have a good British crisis, grumble about it a lot, and feel secure in our grousing about the fact that the council never gets the gritters out early enough.

And yes, a gritter is a lorry that spreads grit. Hence the name ;)

New Well, when the Gulf Stream shuts off
You'll have a *reet* good British crisis on your hands, and *lots* of snow to grouse about.

"Welcome to Rivendell, Mr. Anderson..."
New Stop swimming in it then!
You're using up joules that are for US.

That'd be just our luck; the whole planet turns to desert under a blazing, ozone-free sky, and the only place where there's any sodding snow anywhere is Milton Keynes.

New Gritter mark 2
There must be a secondary meaning- those subjects of the queen who simply grit their teeth at any untoward circumstance. Goes with stiff upper lip donchano.

Like many lawyers, he's overly fond of argument, even when in agreement. Not that anyone here would be into that...
