Well if you wouldn't set size=0, the hr's would show up.
I mean, this works
above below
they disappear when you give them a zero size though
"Whenever you find you are on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect" --Mark Twain
"The significant problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of thinking we were at when we created them." --Albert Einstein
"This is still a dangerous world. It's a world of madmen and uncertainty and potential mental losses." --George W. Bush

Re: Well if you wouldn't set size=0, the hr's would show up.
Every other browser in the known universe treats size=0 as a single fine line. The example you gave is twice as thick and clunky as the ones displayed in Firefox with size=0.

Er... Shift-PrintScreen
grabs the active window

I know :)
Actually, it's alt-Print Screen, but no matter.
I didn't want the active window furniture; was trying to keep the images physically small whilst still keeping enough in them so that you could see the HRULE in its context.

Interesting note:
OS X is the only operating system of the three to ship with a tool for taking a picture of part of the screen (Grab).
Could someone please contribute shots of Opera and maybe Gecko-based browser(Firefox/Camino) on OS X?

Huh? So does Windows; it has done so since at least v 3.0!
Ever wondered what the "Print Screen" (or, often, "PtScrn") button does...?

Not what I meant.
Grab lets you drag a rectangle over the area of the screen you want.
Neither GNOME nor Windows have anything like this; you end up post-producing in Paint or GThumb (GThumb's crop tool is cack, by the way).

That's what I used.
And I still had to use Paint to crop the images.

You'll just have to trust me.
I really have no emotional stake in how various browsers render the horizontal rule.

I used the default size
because if you don't, then the board escapes the tag. OTOH, using size=1 seems to provide the minimum sized line.
Anyhow, if you don't like it (I use safari all the time and like it - I think the extra hr's clutter the page), there's that little button with the bug on it in the upper right corner. Click it and express yourself.
For info on what's coming up check out this guy's blog (he works on safari):
