Yeah, it's class warfare, all right.
It's a direct attack upon the social worker class. All this money passes through them, and they keep a huge chunk of it for "administrative costs." Never mind if the social programs don't really work for society. They work like gangbusters for the middlemen.
The argument over the welfare state was settled back in the early 90's. Now it's just a matter of overcoming the inertia. This social services racket is deeply entrenched.
I know you "liberal" folks aren't happy about the direction in which our country is moving on without you, but you had your day. It's over now, and we really don't much care how you feel about that.

I object to the white boy welfare
We still have welfare - but now we funnel all the money to the people who need it least.
Or didn't you bother to read that bit?

It may be class warfare, but welfare it ain't
The "white boy" actually earned the money before gotting taxed. Not taking money is not the same as giving money.
Now, you could argue that nobody "earns" that much money. Sure. May be. But that's a different discussion.

Yes it is
A lovely example is Wal-mart's higher profit margins because they don't provide health care. Who does provide the health care? Oh, the rest of us in higher fees.
MS has been banging the drum here in WA about wanting to expand but they insist that in order to do so they'll need some new highways so their serfs can get to work more quickly. Who will pay for the highways? Us working stiffs. Who benefits? MS execs mostly (they get to keep their fashionable lakeside addresses), then their employees.
The higher incomes actually do consume disproportionate resources and ought to pay for it.

Are we talking individuals or corporations here?
Individuals already taxed at 30-40% level.
Can you please explain how someone making $1mln is consuming more public money than someone making $25,000 ?

Not so much "white boy welfare" as white collar welfare
Seems to be that the few up-and-comming black neocons ("The Great Carpetbagger" Alan Keyes comes immediately to mind) would benefit equally. Duh's idea of a "colorblind society", you know....

I object to the Red State welfare
"There's a general perception out there that the blue states are big net recipients of federal subsidies," says Harvard business professor Herman "Dutch" Leonard. And there's a corollary perception that, in contrast to these welfare-queen states, the inland and Southern states are a heartland of self-reliance and private initiative, less dependent on federal spending. As Leonard says, "That historically hasn't been the case." And it's becoming less and less so.
In 2003, the top subsidy-sucking state, in percentage terms, was red-lite New Mexico, which received $1.99 in federal money for every dollar it sent to Washington, D.C. All the next eight net recipients of federal spending were redder yet: Kentucky, Virginia, Montana, Alabama, North Dakota, West Virginia, Mississippi and Alaska, which received $1.60 to $1.89 back for each tax dollar.
The list of net losers in the state-federal exchange, by contrast, reads like a Who's Who of Blue. Two of the top 14 were traditionally red Western states that are starting to turn purple, Colorado and Nevada. The other 12 are all blue: California, Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New York, Washington, Wisconsin and the biggest chump of all, New Jersey, where the federal government spends just $.57 for every dollar it collects. Clearly Tony Soprano did not negotiate this deal.
Only five blue states were net recipients of federal subsidies. Only two red states were net payers of federal taxes. Washington, despite its large military presence and big defense contractor The Boeing Co., received just 90 cents on its federal tax dollar. Oregon and swinging Florida are perfect washes: They received one federal dollar for every dollar they paid in taxes. [link|http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/opinion/211080_sciglianomoney.html|Source]

So do the Red Staters
[link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=193114|But we've been over that.]
By the way, those farm subsidies are distributed rather unevenly. It's the big farms that get the lion's share of the loot. But a big farmer only gets one vote - same as the poor farmer. If only the Red Staters had a vote, this farm welfare would be gone in a jiffy.
So tell the truth... you claim that you oppose this corporate welfare for the hicks, but have you actually voted against it? Have you even voted for politicians that have fought it? Like, ferinstance, [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=193114|Dubya]?
