I thought it was called Rugby elsewhere
But I see we're talking about two different sports, so sorry for the confusion.

No, that's Rugby (Union or League, pick your poison).
Which is a fast, dynamic game with an offside rule designed to bamboozle you, again in stark contrast to the odd pace of an American football game.
Again, a truly global sport.
Here's a tip; get a decent sport channel and watch non-US sports for a change - you'll like it.
Also, note that there's no popular or serious take-up of American Football outside the USA.
There's a league here in the UK, but I think 3000 people on a Saturday afternoon is a good turn out. If they're getting serious gates, they're keeping it well hidden.

That's a good start
I just need somewhere that explains the differences between American Football and European Football. And it would help to know what Rugby is also
Any suggestions for a good site to give descriptions of each sport, Peter?

It's not "European" Football fer Chrissakes!
