New Re: Thanks for the feedback ...

It seems there isn't yet the clear message I feel I am hearing.

My own opinion of Afghanistan is how *brilliantly* it was handled (truly). The pics of Afghans doing all the attacking is a masterstroke of media presentation. I have no doubt that by keeping out of sight, the US & brits are cultivating an excellent image of back-room support while the Afghans do the dirty work.

I wonder how many 'brave' Pakis & others are now rushing to Afghansitan to get their throats cut by angry Muslim Afghans. I have no doubt they are being taught a lesson about the folly of fighting emotional wars in other countries.

It is also positively amazing how the Northern Alliance has 'multiplied' - one week they were a weak tiny force, next they have miraculously become 10 times or more bigger and controlling 90% of Afghansitan. Now I know that the bible story of Jesus & the fishes & loaves was metaphorical, but the Northern Alliance miracle happened before our own eyes (grin). But I swear that during the week I saw many of todays Nth All troops wearing black Taliban turbans ??? - perhaps miracles really do happen (grin).

Who cares - the Talibs are toast.

Cheers

(still hoping that what we do to Saddman Inssane is humane and sensible (grin) - I *don't* want to see us create more Bin Ladens)

New On that "swelling" of the Northern Alliance...
...I have this strange feeling that a lot of the "battles" have been Afghan Taliban soldiers dropping out of the Taliban and joining up with the Northern Alliance. No hard evidence, but from the recent reports about the last remaining city under "Taliban" control, the main sticking point seemed to be the non-Afghan Taliban members, not the Taliban itself.
