I hope I don't see you here, then!
Except to hear that you're doing well, of course. Make hay while the sun shines...

So far so good
This afternoon our team had a meeting with our boss's boss, and HIS boss, as we discussed the project, the scope creep, the set in concrete delivery date, and the flexibility that we're designing into the database and the GUI for future business requirements. Our two business analysts/project managers answered a lot of questions from both of them, and in the end, they satisfied the directors. The other contractor and I were introduced at the end of the meeting, where the lead ba/pm said that "we have brought these two on board, they were the best that we interviewed, and that with their help we see no reason why we won't deliver on time". A public "atta boy" that sure felt good!

Re: Breckenridge Oatmeal Stout
Never had it. Was at a friend's house last night. He has a keg of Heineken delivered every month. Couldn't beat the price!

Congrats!
Any chance of it becoming a full time job?

Could be
When I filled out the paperwork for the badge and parking sticker, the manager I report to left the "To" date blank. When I pointed it out to hiim, he said that "there's plenty of things to do here that will keep you busy". Impression given by him and one of the project managers is that there's a lot in the pipeline this year, so if they don't ask me to go perm it looks like there's enough timeline to get an extension.
Perm would be nice; just have to wait and see what unfolds.

Atta boy...V2.0
Make your boss look good, and you'll look great. (And it's good to see that things are beginning to turn around for you, linc.)

Good luck!
But stay aware of how much things are slipping, and watch out for yourself. "Adding people to a late project makes it later" and all that may mean that, no matter how much everyone wants to believe otherwise, a deathmarch might be starting.
However if you're going to observe a deathmarch, there are worse places to do it than from the position of being paid overtime. Particularly if you need the money.
Cheers, Ben
