and it's got nothing to do with the TSA, special screenings, hand searchs or any of the rest of the idiocy that comprises the TSA. Pre 9/11, pilots were told to obey hijackers, be courteous to them and follow their instructions. That ain't the case anymore and that's all that really needed to change. Those goddamned - get to the airport two hours early so we can look up your ass with our million dollar microscopes - rules have done nothing. Not one goddamned hijacking has been avoided for all those TSA "officers" being in every damned airport in the country. We, the People, gave up a ton of privacy for absolutely nothing at all.
But the change in attitude by the flight crew (and passengers) has made it vastly more unlikely we'll ever see a repeat of 9/11. All the enhanced security has accomplished (including air marshals) is to make flying commercial a collosal PITA and make more people spend more time behind the wheels of their goddamned SUV's when/if they travel.
