To (mis)quote a wise young man
"That's what you lot sound like. Seriously." :)

"Bluck"? "Pooden"?
I'm forced to the conclusion that your transcription tells us more about what you sound like than it does about the fair folk of Yorkshire :)

It is, as they say, all relative
Like speaking much of the Strine thing in an already Australian accent only compunded the problem.
But yeah, 'bluck pooden' in an Australian accent is a suitably rough approximation of, well, the Ecky-Thump episode of the Goodies* :)
Er, maybe we should have just done that whole happy-christmas-wav-exchange-frenzy thing from a few years back.
* Who are getting back together for a few shows, one of which I'll be seeing in March. Woo! (and very probably Yay!)

Hot diggety damn,.
I *work* in Stockton-on-Tees, and they don't say "bluck". They say "black", wi' a short "a" sound.
Now, the misfits from Hartlepool might go round calling "curry" "kerry" and "Durham" "Derram", but even they can successfully say "black".

I see your problem.
Try to read Meerkat's original quote with an Aussie accent. It should sound correct.

Do you have family round here?
Specifically, are you, Mr X, related to a Tina X? (substitute X for your surname, obviously)
Same spelling, has two children.

well those folks are up in Newcastle
the ones to look for are Howard (cousin) Ernie(uncle) matched to X=Davies in that surrounding area. In Newcastle I have Marie(cousin) Colin(Uncle) Brian(Uncle)where X=surname and some Pollocks. Might be related to a Tina, there is a boatload of us in the area, I am from William X (father) if you know a Tina, ask her is she knows a Jennie X from the colonies, (Ma is 70+ and zips across there quite a bit) regards, daemon
