New The difference is
being "good enough" is not enough here. Spyware is not HTML/HTTP - these are actual people bent on beating anti-spyware tools, not some academics releasing updated protocol specs once evry few years.

Q. I think I need to see a specialist, but my doctor insists he can handle my problem. Can a general practitioner really perform a heart transplant right in his/her office?
A. Hard to say, but considering that all you're risking is the $20 co-payment, there's no harm in giving it a shot.

New "Good Enough", will be "Good Enough"...
Every tool I have ever thought to be useful, that was either purchased by or licensed to with features removed and included in the OS Product of thiers, has become a terrible waste of electrons.

The feature will be touted by every M$ SHILL from here to eternity. I really hope, they make a GREAT Tool out of this third rate software that GIANT makes.

Personally, I can see it now, M$'s product will remove the other anti-spyware software as spyware. Then, will go on to lackluster in ability. This is something that sometimes needs to be updated multiple times daily, as well as Anti-virus/worm/macro software can be.

I don't agree with this, this just cut out a major portion of the people who really know howto make these things work. I'll bet you that over 90% of the competing product fall into obscurity and wither away, thereby showing "Good Enough" is "Good Enough"

No matter how much Microsoft supporters whine about how Linux and other operating systems have just as many bugs as their operating systems do, the bottom line is that the serious, gut-wrenching problems happen on Windows, not on Linux, not on Mac OS. -- [link|http://www.eweek.com/article2/0,1759,1622086,00.asp|source]
Here is an example: [link|http://www.greymagic.com/security/advisories/gm001-ie/|Executing arbitrary commands without Active Scripting or ActiveX when using Windows]
New This is true.
I work for a maker of spyware removal software: [link|http://www.guideworks.com/|http://www.guideworks.com/] So I know it has to be Good, not just Good Enough.

Fortunately, there's a precedent: anyone remember MSAV? Microsoft licensed a version of Central Point Anti-Virus and bundled it with MS-DOS 6. It was awful. People were widely advised to avoid it. Note that Windows 95 never had any anti-virus software... This is much the same deal: if it's not industry-leading from day one, it will sink.

Is it enough to love
Is it enough to breathe
Somebody rip my heart out
And leave me here to bleed

Is it enough to die
Somebody save my life
I'd rather be Anything but Ordinary
Please
