I guess I just haven't watched enough Trinity Broadcast Corporation, 700 Club, Swaggart, Baker, Hinn, etc. ad plenty-o-nauseum to "get" Americans. I've always held that whatever one chose to "believe" was none of my business. But these damned born-again'ers are acquiring entirely too much socio-political power in this country. I've heard others (including Molly Ivins) say that they aren't going to leave and neither should progressives; arguing that we must now "take back" America.

But, to what end? Clearly at least half of the Americans who bothered to vote in November aren't worth saving. I don't want to live with them. I don't want to have anything to do with them and I damned sure don't want them making any decisions for me. What's left, except to leave?
