Escalation has begun

A woman who objected to being frisked may be charged with assault for slapping an airport security guard's face with her boarding pass, police said.
The 48-year-old woman swatted the agent after being told she had to be patted down for repeatedly setting off metal detectors before her flight Wednesday, Lt. Tod Dahle said.
"She said if anybody was going to touch her, she was going to touch them," Dahle said. She was "just an average middle-aged person who got upset."
The woman was allowed to leave on another flight, but police plan to pursue a misdemeanor assault charge, Dahle said.
Many women say the airport patdowns are going too far. They're responding to new airport procedures in which security guards use open hands to feel across women's shoulders, waists and their breasts. These searches are sometimes conducted by men and in front of other passengers.

Fly the Friendly Skies.
Jesus, can anyone even remember when it was exciting to go to the airport and fly somewhere? It's a collosal PITA now, UNLESS you get to sit where you can look out the front.

I can see humoring these jackanapes
- just long enough to board a flight out of the country.
Meanwhile, for the duration of this shameful cabal and its witless toadies - it's Amtrak or The Car por moi (or maybe the Green Turtle bus).
Let it get Much Worse, I say - obv the Fighting threshold for awakening a sizable majority of perpetually somnolent Consumers re what they've lost, must be Pretty ^fucking^ ^^High^^

Haven't flown since 09/08/2001
I've got a comfortable car and an iPod with four days of listening pleasure.
As long as I stop at every other rest area for my wife's sake, we do just fine.

Consumers LIKE this
can't make an omelet without breaking a few eggs, after all.
The more abusive TSA gets, the more consumers will see the Bush anti-terrorism strategy in action. There's been no more hijacking attacks, so it M*U*S*T be effective.
See, it's GOOD that Bush is back in office. The consumer voted him in; after all - in the Bush economy fewer can afford to fly anyway - see how he takes care of us?

And continues.
Emphasis mine. The uniformed screeners from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) have become familiar sights to air travelers across the country. But not all airport officials are happy to have them around. Nevada's Elko Regional Airport last week became the first airport in the country to apply to get rid of TSA screeners altogether and return to private employees. The airport, which handles just 15 flights a day, has 14 screeners. Elko director Cris Jensen said there were no problems with the government screeners, but he feels his airport can do the same job more efficiently by better matching its personnel with demand. Dozens of other small airports are expected to apply for a similar exemption in the coming weeks.
