New Not only Hollywood rehashes old story lines
And I think to myself... where have I heard this before?

"Disgruntled expats" spread disinformation to induce the "World Police" to come in and set things straight. And, of course, the neocons will be just all too willing to believe _anything_ which helps their desire to invade.

*sigh*

Place your bets, gents; one dollar will getcha two; we're looking for an invasion... anybody got an invasion.

thanks

New Another year or two of this and it'll get scary.
See, the world seems to be able to tolerate self-described Communist/Socialist states for quite a while (think China, not USSR).

But when it comes to fascist states that demonstrate a propensity to invade, the world doesn't appear to be so tolerant (think Germany).

Guess which one we're becoming more like every day?

New no mimes allowed
that way too many Iraqis conceived of free society as little more than a mosh pit with grenades. ANDISHEH NOURAEE

New Landmimes are a significant problem..
New This is why a pullout in Iraq next year is possible also
The neocons realize that they need a stable Iraq and pressure off our troops for a while if they want to stage another war. US forces are too spread to thin and too worn out to support another war* without some time off.

This is why the they are now pushing the idea of pulling most US forces out of Iraq right after the Iraqi elections. The US will just back which ever side wins, declare victory and pull most US troops out. The government in Iraq will probably lose control of parts of the country, but that has been the normal situation in Iraq for a long time.

One of the more cynical reasons for the recent US raids in Iraq has been to anger those that are not pro-US enough that they boycott the election. This is the only way the US can insure the apperance of a free election and a pro-US leader winning.

Once the bulk of the troops are out of Iraq, the Neocons can then spend a year or two resting the troops, restocking and building up the fear factor before Iran.

* A draft would be another possible solution, but that woulnd't get around the limited supplies of materials.
