Welcome to IWETHEY!

New A final word
Well it's time to really go the way of Karsten. I really don't have anything more to contribute here, and I'm not getting anything thing out of it other than pissed off at the mental cases (fooker and birdbrain).

I hope I'll be able to see Skip and Beep in future. It was a lot of fun being at the party the last two years. I would have liked to have met more of you in person - this is really a lousy way to communicate.

Don't take it personally. I'm sort of sick of everyone. Humans basically suck - the cellphone is the best, most dramatic proof of that, followed closely by the Internet. My God, did I help create this mess?

Sorry for wasting your time. Nothing here to see, move along.

-drl
New Bye. You are just looking for excuses.
Everyone does that. If I can't argue with you... who can. And was I really taking you to task?

No. Just shooting holes with a shotgun, hoping you'll back-up your assertions.

So, long, fair-well, <mumble>-good night.

New Color me the optimist...
...but I kind of hope self returns one of these years, as well as yourself. The world seems on a losing trajectory but every once in a while there is a glimmer of hope. Can't say that I think cell phones or the internet really has caused the demise of civilization, as there were many things before these modern forms of communication that were/are troublesome.

Anyway, take care. And if you wonder back to these parts, you will be treated as the prodigal son returned. :-)

I agree there. I hope those that have left, (including Ross), find their way back here and start anew. After all, people take breaks from things all the time, and there's nothing wrong with that. And they know IWT is here to come back to.

And maybe that will give them some comfort.

You are always welcome, even when you go off the deep end for a bit.
I hope you find what you are looking for.

In the meantime, enjoy the break.

intelligent conversation is at a premium down here!

I'd say though, that writing off this place because you conflict with some personalities might be a mistake. There will be conficts in any sufficiently large group; that doesn't invalidate the value of the group itself. As to getting POed, is it really worth it to get more than annoyed by a post? I mean, it's less than a voice; you can just not read it - and that's a lot easier than ignoring a voice in a 'real' conversation. You don't even have to cover your ears...

Try setting your preferences to show one comment at a time rather than show all replies - and then ignore those posters that are irritating you... I dunno. I can't judge. I changed my posting style (and frequency) signifigantly after LAME got under my skin.

I have a feeling we'll still be here if you want to come back...

New How about a "rein check" ?
C'mon - we're all saddled with a National Brainfart, facing four years!! of ticking off just how many areas from.. the local environment to the whole fucking planet -- might be? will be? set-backwards / partially destroyed? / goaded by Bring-It-On bravado; just fucking Dared to create the Armageddon/spasm these psychos secretly masturbate-over.. (just not on that expensive new blue oval rug-thing).

While matters devolve as they must; as Shrub periodically lets slip in Public garblings.. the sterility of his vacant psyche and his dry-drunk tenuous grasp on normal human connectedness -

WTF are ya gonna go to find erudite moral support, irreverent analysis and just plain black humor? - As We Watch and Wait for this cabal to self-destruct, as did Caligula and all the other loonies. The seeds are in their DNA. There's your place to invest real faith of the non-fantastical kind. Bet on Cosmic Humour every time!

We must preserve the essential and sane hope that somehow These Too Shall Pass *before* they can open the Bagman's bag wide enough to inflict Gawd's Retribution on the unSaved.
Even with 4 Clarence Thomases leaving pubic hair on beer cans in the USSC Executive john..

This guy's ahead of his time! He's using quantum programming methods: in universes where invalid data is passed to this function, it does not return. Thus you are ensured that you will only have valid data after calling it. Optimally you'd destroy the universe on failure, but computers haven't quite advanced to that level yet.

I know we don't agree on most things, but I think you have grown in this forum.

It's valuable to see and understand multiple points of view. If you put yourself into an environment where everyone agrees with you, you're in trouble.

You've also had an influence on me, because you pull me from right-wing to the middle. You might think I'm still one of those fundie John Birch types, but you have taught me to have compassion.
