I don't get the coverage.

Surely he was saying "Jesus will save you" to any onlookers...? Sounds to me like he was trying to prove that statement. Pity that God doesn't promise health and safety to his followers anymore. ;)

And that he was trying to convert the King of Beasts to Christianity. He was clearly facing the lions, and told them to come bite him, so I'd say he was talking to them, and was clearly off his rocker. ;)
