HARLEY DEMOGRAPHIC SEEING INCREASE IN GAY RIDERS

Milwaukee, Wisconsin, July 13 - The latest demographic data obtained by an
independent auditing firm suggests that more and more homosexuals and lesbians are purchasing Harley Davidson motorcycles.

Zogby International, an renowned opinion and marketing research organization based in Upstate New York, compiled the data using surveys provided to motorcyclist and gay-oriented organizations. Zogby International would not comment when asked if they were hired by the Harley-Davidson Motor Company to conduct this survey.

"What we are seeing here, is a significant change in the percentage of owners of Harley Davidson motorcyclists, who happen to be gay. This is in direct contrast to the presumed 'typical Harley owner'" states John Daniels, an auditor for Zogby.

When polled as to what motivated a gay consumer to obtain a Harley Davidson product, the most common answer pertained to its masculine image the motor company and its product suggests.

When asked which model motorcycle was the model of choice, 39% preferred the Springer Softail. The second model of choice was the Fat Boy with 33% of the surveys tabulated. The remaining 28% was divided amongst the various other models Harley Davidson produces. No explanation was provided as to why these models were the preferred over the others.

While no one is certain as to what overall percentage of the Harley Davidson motorcycles happen to be gay, evidence suggests that the homosexual/lesbian ownership segment is growing.

"It just goes to show you, that you never know whom you may be riding with, or waving to on that motorcycle", says Mr. Daniels, "It has been long documented that the female population is the fastest growing segment in the motorcycle industry. However, the gay population may soon give it a run for its money."

New Geez, this is too easy
This is in direct contrast to the presumed 'typical Harley owner'
What, they don't wear enough leather?
39% preferred the Springer Softail. The second model of choice was the Fat Boy with 33%
Do I even have to write the punch lines?

Implicitly condoning stupidity since 2001.
New Ummm . . . Gee . . . .
Gays on Harleys have been a cliche here in Southern California so long I can't immagine this is news. The gay boys ticked out in complete classic movie style leathers, old fashioned motocycle hats and 20 pounds of chrome chains swarm Hollywood on their chrome decorated stock and classic Harleys. Deisel dykes are far from stylish but have also favored Harleys by a wide margin.

I think the yuppies picked up on Harleys due to admiration of the stylish gay biker image rather than the rather less stylish and far more dangerous looking chopper pilots riding machines customized beyond recognition (though sanitized pseudo-choppers have become fairly popular here recently).
