The background and character histories are intriguing but in a can-we-satisfy-the-thinking-people way. The story setting is good, but they put in a little too much: vampires are a major story element but for some reason so is Frankenstien's monster. And then there was a big, over-long sequence where There Is A Lot Of Destruction And Mayhem As The Villian Attempts To Make His Plans Go Ahead And The Heroes Interfere, Preventing The End Of The World.
There is a fairly well-done, but excruciatingly obvious scene where they setup things to do another movie. But they really should have retained a writer who knows how to scale things properly and when to leave things out. And who could overrule the director and producer.
