All I can say is...
ObDean YYEEEAAAGHHHHH!
What a great series.
Hats off to the Astros and their Valley of Death. They played without 2 of their best pitchers all year, they'll garner the Cy Young from Oswalt or Clemens, and played their hearts out. In August they were 7th in the wild card race. Class act.

I agree
It was a great game, really. Both teams really played well!

Curse of the owl plagued the Astros
Actually, it's more like the curse of Texas baseball. No way a Texas team is ever gonna get to the Series. And ex-Rangers Brown and A-Rod were the downfall of the Yanks. (Rangers were a far better team this year without Rodriguez).
My prediction: There's gonna be way too much red in the stadium crowds.

C'mon, it wasn't your year
With your staff back, you'll probably be the favorites next year in the division. SIGN BELTRAN.
Clemens is done, but you don't really need him.
I would have gone with Clemens last night and Oswalt tonight. Oswalt is headed for the Hall of Fame IMO - he has the most outrageous change-up I've ever seen (you have to see it in person to appreciate it).

But I wanted to win *now*
Astros gambled and lost. They were in a better position to compete in the next round with the way they went. Game 6, though, was much closer and within reach.
Beltran will probably sign for a bazillion dollars and then never be a factor again. Clemens needs to retire, no doubt.
As for next year, we'll have to put up with the revived cubbies getting to the world series and proclaim that they have broken their own curse.

Nah, I think it was something else
Like the fact that we had over a dozen stuffed Red Birds in here watching the game and rooting for the Cardinals.
I don't own a stuffed Astro. I don't even know what one would look like! ;)

For some Astro
Go to your local hardware store, look for the Astro turf
/me ducks and hides.
A good friend will come and bail you out of jail ... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"

Re: For some Astro
Go to your local hardware store, look for the Astro turf /me ducks and hides. Hahaha! That's a good one, Jbrabeck! Actually, I learned the secret of why the Cards won after all. My husband pointed out to me that whenever his company had a spirit day, and they ran the TV in the lobby and showed the game, and everyone wore red, the Cardinals won. The few times they chose not to have a spirit day on game day, they lost. So the company has decided to have spirit days every day of the Series from here on out (and they started with the tail end of the round Vs the Astros.) Nightowl >8#

Good idea!
Maybe I can find an Astronaut bear or something next time that can root for the Astros.
I only have one Long Horn, and he's really little, and I have two rattlesnakes and they're really huge. :)

Houston, we have a problem
I would hope that those stuffed dolls have been stuck with long sharp needles in your attempt to hex the Cardinals against your favorite team?

Re: Houston, we have a problem
I would hope that those stuffed dolls have been stuck with long sharp needles in your attempt to hex the Cardinals against your favorite team? They aren't dolls, they're critters. ;) And no, of course not, because I teach all my critters to be good sports, and the Texas critters are included in that. ;) Mostly they are Armadillos and Long Horns and Rattlesnakes. Nightowl >8# Edit: P.S. And I would have brought the Armadillos upstairs to root for the Astros, except John hates Armadillos and they are only allowed to be in the basement. :)

First game attended was in a brand new Busch Stadium with gramps. Go Cards.
