And the final word from Dell is
"Fuck off, loser. We've got you're money; now call India for support. Sucker!"
(Sorry -- couldn't resist the opening)

Wish I could say I get that kind of support from them...
...but I'm using the "corporate" support account, where they've realized they can't screw their customers over as much.

You could be lucky then
you may deal with a real Dell employee in Round Rock, TX; an outsourced company in Twin Falls, Idaho; or an ousource company in Ohio (ferget which city). Those are the only three places I remember where they do corporate support.

I dealt with Dell corporate support a few times.
It was during my recent contract. Over time I noticed that the support techs had been made very aware that Dell Support has an abysmal reputation for actually being useful. Starting with the quality of the telephone lines. So I was impressed Dell wanted to do something about it.

I only deal with corporate support
In my experience, it's among the best. Not up to pre-Windows WordPerfect* standards, but then again, no one is.
* I believe there is much truth to the allegation that MS saw Windows more as a WordPerfect killer (it's all about the drivers, man) than as a replacement OS.

That's because your country once ruled India
They're just like family to you.

You left out the women.
That's why the British REALLY conquered Ireland - they were desperate to see some good-looking faces for a change.

What about the Scots?
Got a relative who married a Scottish lass - when they showed up to my wedding I wanted to call a time out. She was drop dead gorgeous. She made Sheena Easton look like Rosie O'Donnell.

Why do you think Longshanks proclaimed "Prima noctis?"

Are you sure about that?
Just because I call a 1-800 number here in the USA doesn't mean that it gets received by a USA located telephone.
