The fixpack supersedes some, but not some others. The best thing to do is to apply the fixpack, and go to the IBM fix page and get the latest versions of the kernel and jfs. Also, since you're reinstalling from scratch, don't forget to apply the tcpip fixes esp. if you do dial-up.
