In subsequent polling, it now looks like Cheney won slightly
[link|http://www.surveyusa.com/Scorecards/VPDebateWinnerLoserByRegion041006.pdf|http://www.surveyusa...yRegion041006.pdf]
I still think that it was a draw. But with lots of blood on the floor.

That was my read...
..a pretty good slugfest that left both men bruised...but standing.
Pretty much a draw.
But pre-polling gave the advantage to Edwards...so maybe the fact that Cheney didn't >lose< turns a tie into a win for Dick.
Who knows. We'll figure it all out in a few weeks.

Now that is spin.
I intentionally watched both debates on CSPAN to avoid the talking heads. I am biased, but I agree that it was largely a draw although I was personally heartened that some one, FINALLY, came close to calling the VP what he is: a lying, conniving bastard who unashamedly repeats the same lies over and over without regard to overwhelming evidence to the contrary - okay, Edwards didn't exactly say that, but he did call the Veep dishonest which, I guess, is as close as a Senator can get.
The next morning I watched several morning "news" programs and each, without exception, was extolling the virtues of Dick's performance; about how the Vice President "looked like a father telling his young, know-it-all son back fresh from college when he was wrong" and generally putting Edwards in his place. Now, you might ask why the big news corps would try to spin this into a Cheney victory. But, it shouldn't take too long for you to realize that Edwards made millions by winning large settlements from large corporations. That, um, might just make the Corp-News outlets a little biased, don't you think?

Who'd you watch, FOX?
I watched...and each program had a guy from both sides...and each guy from each side said their guy won.
Still makes it a tie in my book:-)

I'd watch FOX, too.
But I can't stand blatant bias. I occasionally watch Imus on MSNBC because he seems to be popular and I try to stay aware of what my fellow countrymen are thinking. .... That is, um, when they are actually thinking. ;0)

Why, indeed!
Well, you got this part right: But, it shouldn't take too long for you to realize that Edwards made millions by winning large settlements from large corporations. That, um, might just make the Corp-News outlets a little biased, don't you think? Indeed! But do not forget that it was this "administration" that attempted to legislate media monopoly control over the top markets in the US (helped along by the Secy of State's li'l brother). The Mejia have a vested interest in seeing Duh get re-elected, and anybody who doesn't think that this will translate into some biased"targetted" news coverage by said Mejia is...well,...BeeP! And I don't even think BeeP is that naive/foolish to believe that, either. Maybe Marlowe...
