New Why don't you...
...challenge the facts of the statement made?
If you push something hard enough, it will fall over. Fudd's First Law of Opposition

[link|mailto:bepatient@aol.com|BePatient]
New The "facts"????
Sorry, but, "Cheney hammered Kerry/Edwards on their senate records. Hammered them on raising taxes. Hammered them on politics of the polls."

"Hammered" is at best an opinion. Sheesh.
bcnu,
Mikem

"The struggle for the emancipation of the working class is not between races or religions. It is one of class against class. Every trace of anti-Semitism, or any form of race hatred cannot assist the oppressed, it can on the contrary only aid the exploiters. Workers of all nationality, religion or creed must stand together against the common enemy: capitalism."
-Ted Grant
New Ok...so you disagree on that word..
..challenge the assertion that CNN made that the campaign is "in a panic" and changing their message based upon that.

You can't.

So you spew this bullshit instead.

To be expected.

If you push something hard enough, it will fall over. Fudd's First Law of Opposition

New You're still frothing....
...the assertion that CNN made...

Did you read the article? Do you need to before knee-jerking to a conclusion? Or are you saying CNN == a poli-sci professor from Michigan State?
bcnu,
Mikem

Workers of all nationality, religion or creed must stand together against the common enemy: capitalism."
-Ted Grant
New No I'm not.
They included the quote. Published the article. Its not froth bud. Or do you consider calling out CBS for rushing to judgement on the Bush stuff "frothing" as well?

I might have to call you on that word like you called me on "hammered"
If you push something hard enough, it will fall over. Fudd's First Law of Opposition

New And the fact that he changed his schedule?
That part of his normal plan all along? Like, when you say, "I meant to do that" when you screw up?

New He's been to PA quite a bit.
Because the polls are close...and the Reps think they can actually win the state.

New Sorry, not where he was, what he said.
From the article emphasis mine:
Bush's scowling and annoyed appearance in the debate was widely panned, prompting Bush's campaign to substitute the speech for a re-election event in Wilkes-Barre that was to focus on medical liability reform.

Mikem

-Ted Grant
New Did you listen to the speech?
ANd is it "panic" that would cause a change after the VP debate when they can reinforce the points that they were successful with the night before?

The spin is >panic<. You seem to believe it. Neato

I don't think so...one man's thought and a major networks carrying of that thought notwithstanding...that is politics as usual.

Panic would require a change of message. They might have changed the focus of the speech...but there has been no change in message.

Me. Now that Gus Hall is gone, I really don't have anyone left to vote for. ;-)

Illegal Change of Subject! 5 yards and loss of momentum! It's now Second Down!

Beep, how 'bout for once you stick to the topic at hand, instead of wildly changing the subject when you have nothing else to answer with. The subject is a CNN article on the Cheney-Edwards debate. Do try to stay on target, OK?

The timekeepr will now start the clock....

New no.
that was the discussion.

[link|http://www.surveyusa.com/Scorecards/VPDebateWinnerLoserByRegion041006.pdf|http://www.surveyusa...yRegion041006.pdf]

I still think that it was a draw. But with lots of blood on the floor.

Ben
I have come to believe that idealism without discipline is a quick road to disaster, while discipline without idealism is pointless. -- Aaron Ward (my brother)
New That was my read...
..a pretty good slugfest that left both men bruised...but standing.

Pretty much a draw.

But pre-polling gave the advantage to Edwards...so maybe the fact that Cheney didn't >lose< turns a tie into a win for Dick.

Who knows. We'll figure it all out in a few weeks.
If you push something hard enough, it will fall over. Fudd's First Law of Opposition

[link|mailto:bepatient@aol.com|BePatient]
New Now that is spin.
I intentionally watched both debates on CSPAN to avoid the talking heads. I am biased, but I agree that it was largely a draw although I was personally heartened that some one, FINALLY, came close to calling the VP what he is: a lying, conniving bastard who unashamedly repeats the same lies over and over without regard to overwhelming evidence to the contrary - okay, Edwards didn't exactly say that, but he did call the Veep dishonest which, I guess, is as close as a Senator can get.

The next morning I watched several morning "news" programs and each, without exception, was extolling the virtues of Dick's performance; about how the Vice President "looked like a father telling his young, know-it-all son back fresh from college when he was wrong" and generally putting Edwards in his place. Now, you might ask why the big news corps would try to spin this into a Cheney victory. But, it shouldn't take too long for you to realize that Edwards made millions by winning large settlements from large corporations. That, um, might just make the Corp-News outlets a little biased, don't you think?

Mikem

New Who'd you watch, FOX?
I watched...and each program had a guy from both sides...and each guy from each side said their guy won.

Still makes it a tie in my book:-)

New I'd watch FOX, too.
But I can't stand blatant bias. I occasionally watch Imus on MSNBC because he seems to be popular and I try to stay aware of what my fellow countrymen are thinking. .... That is, um, when they are actually thinking. ;0)

Well, you got this part right:

Indeed! But do not forget that it was this "administration" that attempted to legislate media monopoly control over the top markets in the US (helped along by the Secy of State's li'l brother). The Mejia have a vested interest in seeing Duh get re-elected, and anybody who doesn't think that this will translate into some biased"targetted" news coverage by said Mejia is...well,...BeeP!

And I don't even think BeeP is that naive/foolish to believe that, either. Maybe Marlowe...
