I am not a manager. In fact, they work on a different team and their manager thinks that they are God's gift to programming. At least if we establish standards we can try to hold them to it.

These people came from non OO backgrounds (I think C/C++) and therefore program Java like C. It is an unfortunate fact that few C/C++ really understand OO programming.
