I have been robbed. ROBBED.
First the flying cars have failed to transpire. Then the base on the Moon didn't show up. I don't appear to have a teleporter in my house.
And now this.

Is Gartner Group a division of RAND Corp.?
Or vice versa?
This is about the funniest thing I've seen all week - and I bet the guys at RAND have spent the last 30 years thinking, "I hope nobody ever finds that picture; I hope nobody ever finds that picture; I hope nobody . . . ".

It would need an operator

Well, unlike the others...
You could make that a reality. It would take up a lot of space, and probably cost a bit for the parts (i.e. the not economically feasible for the average home part). I don't know where you'd get the teletype printer though.

I still can get them, complete.
There is a company that still uses the Teletypes only becuase they work very very well in the impact form printing business. Basically using them as a hammer printer without the huge cost to purchase them. The hammer printers are virtually the same hardware as some old teletypes.
Now, it has been a while since I visited this guy who maintains them for the coupla companies still using them... so I am say this from /dev/ass.

On eBay, of course
All the teletype machines up today are way too old, but I'm sure you could get a newer one within a month or so.
