Last fall while on that river cruise down the Danube, there was a group of a half a dozen or more loud-mouthed arrogant demanding passengers on board. In the dining room, we were some 20 feet from them and they would drown out the remainder of the 150 or so passengers. You have to picture the classic "ugly American" stereotype. On an "old city" walking tour of perhaps Nuremberg, one of these Israeli ladies engaged the local tour guide. "Didn't all the Germans know about the holocaust while it was in progress?" And the guide responds, "Some knew, some suspected, but many did not know." "The Germans feel a lot of guilt...", etc, etc. Well, as if one could bring back the dead, that wasn't good enough! "How could the Germans not know?" And on and on it went until we had to board the bus.
