New Veteran retracts criticism of Kerry - not
[link|http://humaneventsonline.com.edgesuite.net/unfit_aff.html|Boston Globe got it wrong]

Excerpt:

"Captain George Elliott describes an article appearing in today's
edition of the Boston Globe by Mike Kranish as extremely inaccurate and
highly misstating his actual views. He reaffirms his statement in the
current advertisement paid for by the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth,
Captain Elliott reaffirms his affidavit in support of that advertisement,
and he reaffirms his request that the ad be played. [See both
affidavits below.]

'Additional documentation will follow. The article by Mr. Kranish is
particularly surprising given page 102 of Mr. Kranish's own book quoting
John Kerry as acknowledging that he killed a single, wounded, fleeing
Viet Cong soldier whom he was afraid would turn around.

I say:

And if he gets elected president, he'll shoot America in the back,
too. Just like he did with Winter Soldier.

New well that is something you are well trained in
the equivelent of shooting people in the back. At least the guy on the boat that Kerry pulled aboard still likes him as does everyone on his boat. Now the others have their own reasons for disparaging Kerry. I will also point out that getting into a Military Jet and landing the thing by yourself is also dangerous. For Kerry's experience of being under fire I would trust him to take sending men into combat very seriously as does our current president. However Kerry's advisors would no be Trotskyites running their version of continous war worldwide. I hope.
thanx,

New That's because you're not an accountant.
No accountant worth is salt would ever claim that two and two always makes four. It all depends on how you want to look at it.

New 2 is not equal to 3 ....
not even for extremely large values of 2.
New Complete refutation by Rassman
The Wall Street Journal today (page A10) published a piece by Jim Rassman, the guy Kerry rescued. He completely counters the claims of the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" (which he calls "Swift Boat Veterans for Bush"). Rassman, a retired police officer, says he's a Republican and generally speaks publicly only about orchids (his hobby).

Rassman says there was intense fire from both banks of the river, that Kerry turned his boat around and personally pulled him on board while under fire. Rassman says he recommended Kerry for a Silver Star and only learned much later he'd been awarded a Bronze Star.

Apparently Captain Elliott has some internal conflicts of his own since he can't seem to get his story straight.

The guy leading the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" also has some conflicts. He was awarded a Bronze Star for the same action. Since "there was no ambush and no enemy fire" shouldn't he give it back and admit it was awarded due to fraud?

All in all, the "Swift Boat Veterans for Truth" group typifies the sleeze and dishonisty we have learned to expect from the Bush administration.
