I was looking forward to the long thread from Chris's post.

And then I saw the first reply at the top of my unread thread was yours. *sigh* So instead of a good discussion about Doom III, I got a shallow insult-fest about violence in computer games.

Ross, currently I see far too many posts from you on IWETHEY. It is dulling my - and other's - enjoyment of this place. Take a week's break and work off the bile somewhere else. It's really not welcome here.

Perhaps Ross should have jumped his post earlier

Lets see Doom 3
it involves players blowing the crap out of various things using various weapons. It better than doom one because you choices of where you blow the crap out of things and how is increased by (inset adjective here) Im sorry, as a non game player Ross's thread was more interesting but you also should be able to have a clean discussion of your interests. So lets all play the keep on subject or start new thread a little better.

If he'd branched to another forum, it would have been fine.

But otherwise, I quite agree. I'm not a fanatical player of FPS games, but I do like them. Doom 3 is a really big fish in FPS games so I'm going to be interested.

You indulged in a blatant thread hijack; this is the Reviews forum, where we Review stuff. You grabbed the thread and turned it into an ontological discussion on the nature of morality in modern civilisation.

The polite thing to do would have been to branch the thread to another forum.
