Only thing is, I have maybe 80% of it clean. If I could get the last 20% of stubborn bristles scattered throughout clean, it would be reusable.

I may give it to dad and see if he has more patience and determination to clean it. He's more like yours, jrabeck, only he never went as far as to make me straighten bent nails. Well, I take it back, we straightened some ONCE, because they were specific nails and came with the hanging apparatus, and we bent two. We were able to straighten them and reuse them, rather than run all over town trying to match these little ornate nails.

Thanks for the info though, I'll pass it to dad. He might already own some of that solvent stuff, or a wire bristle brush... come to think of it, I think his wire bristle brush is in our basement... unless he took it back. He has a large cache of tools here at our house for use when working here on things.

This coming from a guy who had to straighten nails for dad when a kid for reuse. Never once saw my dad toss a nail out. A good friend will come and bail you out of jail ... but, a true friend will be sitting next to you saying, "Damn...that was fun!"
