THE RESEARCH ARM of IBM has a software tool under development that identifies wireless LAN nodes that are vulnerable to a sneak attack by hackers, the company announced Thursday. Prototyped on a Linux-based wireless PDA (personal digital assistant), the device will be able to automatically monitor 802.11 wireless LAN networks and collect security-related information.

While it doesn't address the crypto problems with WEP, it does make sure that data is actually being encrypted.
(Sorry, couldn't find the thread where we were discussing the security concerns of the 802.11 protocols...heck, I'n not even sure if it was here or EZstink...)
