Welcome to IWETHEY!

New T22 arrived yesterday
Been busy getting eCS installed. Today I'm catching up on yard work, but tonight I'll be working on getting PCMCIA support installed. The PCCARD driver included with eCS on disk 3 has a problem when I try to install it. I ran the self extracting archive to extract to e:\\temp. During the driver install a message pops up "file not found" and references a subdirectory below temp(there's a "..." in the path so I don't know the full path). The file referenced is in e:\\temp\\ but there are no subdirectories.

Also, something during the install of eCS killed Win98(it won't boot, no messages, just a solid disk light). Basically I did the following:

1) made recovery diskette(no included OS CDs - recover CD can be ordered if needed)
2) use partition magic to shrink C:
3) use partition magic to move up the "recovery partition" from the end of the disk
3) tried the recovery partition (F11 during Win98 boot) to make sure it still worked after being moved(it's just a FAT directory)
4) booted eCS CD, ran LVM and installed Boot Manager
5) was unable to added a partition for eCS
6) booted to Win98 - this was via the Boot Manager
7) used partition magic to create Logical drives d: (windata) and e:(ecs)
8) booted eCS and set e: for the install
9) eCS installed fine
10) booting to Win98 now hangs - it worked via boot manager before, so don't know what happened
11) booting recovery diskette hangs too

New Installed FAT32 IFS
I can now see the contents of 98's partition. No luck with the not-booting problem though. Any suggestions now that I have access to the drive?

New even DOS disks are hanging
I've tried a couple DOS disks I have lying around and they also hang with the blinking cursor, just like 98 and the recovery diskette. I suspect LVM changed something to the partition table that's confusing MS DOS. Any ideas?

New PCMCIA support working, posting this wireless under eCS!!!
had company over today so didn't get to spend much time with the laptop. I'll probably work on the Win98 not booting problem next.

I did notice something today that I really like about the T22 - no "win keys" on the keyboard :-)

New Re: PCMCIA support working, posting this wireless under eCS!
Does the Artem OS/2 driver package provide any utilities? Specifically a Radio signal strength indicator would be nice.

New maybe
there's a program included that TRAP E's the system whenever I try to run it. I noticed updated drivers on ARtem's site so I will see if that cures the trap. If not I'll be sending ARtem an email to see if they can help.
