Unix / Linux relationship / timeline
Can anyone point be to a good writup / chart showing this that I can use as the basis for a lecture on it?
I have a lot of mainframers asking me about the relationship and differences between the 2, espciecially since they are all moving to one or the other. We use both Solaris and Linux, and the terminology is killing them.
I try to limit all discussions to non-OS issues, since they are the same to the end-user (in our company), but they still want to know.

Compare that to: [link|http://www.levenez.com/unix/page05.gif|The Original]
There are many other things wrong with the version Ben showed you.

Groklaw is building a timeline.
It is "non graphical" and in skeletal form now, but release dates are available for lots of versions of Unix and "work alikes". [link|http://www.grokline.net/by_vendor.php| http://www.grokline.net/by_vendor.php]
