Dunno what happened, but last night the system locked hard. So I rebooted.
Sez I "Boy, I gotta get reiser on everythign else.". But it gives me LIL-
And that's it.
So I said well, damn. I liloed a SCSI disk (extern, spare, the reiser test one), and somehow the IDE bootblock must have gotten messed up?
So I looks for my RH 7.0 disk. I can't find it. Find 2 &3, no 1.
Find Mandrake 7.0 boot. Which has more bugs than the amazon. Eh, ought to work for this. Nope. (Either that, or my disk is *really really* hosed).
Dig out a couple SCSI drives that have some flavor of Linux on them. Guess what? LILO errors on EVERY ONE OF THEM, too.
I hates it, really I do.
(I've reported a problem (lilo and SCSI) to the lilo dev mailing list, and Joanne Dow basically called me an idiot and said that the problems that I could reproduce at will didn't exist). (considering another version of lilo worked perfectly, (older one), I don't quite believe that.
Anyways.
So I guess 7.1 upgrade's going tonight, assuming I can get it downloaded/copied. $#^@*&^$@*&@#((*&@$
