Excerpt:
KUFA, Iraq \ufffd Explosions rocked the compound surrounding the Kufa mosque on Monday after ammunition used by fighters loyal to Muqtada al-Sadr apparently caught fire, witnesses and Shiite militia members said. At least nine people were hurt.
Flames and smoke rose above the building. Firefighters and ambulances raced to the site, where fighters in al-Sadr's al-Madhi army had been holed up.
One militiaman blamed an American missile attack, but the U.S. military said it had no troops in the area.
I say:
Incompetence and the lust for power get off one parting shot. Al-Sadr's bid for power is winding down even now. Meanwhile, the UN Security Council are falling all over themselves to "legitimize" the new regime.
Now what was that about hard questions? Does "hard question" mean the kind of question which the passage of time will answer quite satisfactorily?
