Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Never heard of it, but Absolut is quite OK.
So your claim about who's allowed to make vodka is bull.

Well, sure, actually Swedes didn't use to CALL it "vodka" -- "Absolut" is a truncation of the old brand "Absolut Rent Brännvin", where "brännvin" means, literally, "burnt wine"; i.e, distilled. Like "brandy"; another term for 'brännvin' is "snaps"; cf Ger. "Schnapps". Anyway, distilled agri-produce yielding a mixture of ethanol and water, that's what they ALL are... ABV&S just took to calling it "vodka" because the stupid Yanks had at least *heard* of that, so they'd know what to expect from a product marketed under that name.

Oh well, I guess there's no danger anyone would be fooled by your diatribe -- in your screed over different kinds of booze, you don't even *mention* correctly spelled whisky, only some adulterations of it that are spelled with an 'e'; so no-one in their right mind would probably take your advice on "licker".

Your lies are of Microsoftian Scale and boring to boot. Your 'depression' may be the closest you ever come to recognizing truth: you have no 'inferiority complex', you are inferior - and something inside you recognizes this. - [link|http://z.iwethey.org/forums/render/content/show?contentid=71575|Ashton Brown]
New Absolut is pretty good.
Throw it in the freezer and it's like drinking ice with a fiery aftertaste. :-)

New Re: Absolut is pretty good.
Produced in sweden and distilled from winter wheat, [link|http://www.drinksmixer.com/desc136.html|Absolut] has a smooth and malty consistancy - with a subtle hint of dried fruit.
On the other hand, some vodka is made from potatoes.
[link|http://cocktails.about.com/library/weekly/aa010599.htm|Vodka is made] from neutral spirits, (which are distilled spirits produced from any material at or above 190\ufffd proof). Usually it is distilled from grain or potatoes. The end result is ethanol. It is then charcoal filtered, rectified or distilled again to ensure all congeners and taste is removed. In the United States, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms' law states that "Vodka is neutral spirits so distilled, or so treated after distillation with charcoal or other materials, as to be without distinctive character, aroma, taste, or color."
I've never found them to have much taste.
