New New forum topic?
Would it be possible to have a forum topic area for grid computing?

Thanks,
Slugbug
New Most of the uses I've seen are for the Database
But you could probably rename the Network Appliances forum to incorporate Grid Computing.
New sounds good to me

New what if...
...one had a new grid desktop....think that belongs in database? Would like a separate grid topic altogether and am curious if folks are willing to test a new grid desktop...
New I understand the desire but volume is too low I think
...since I can only dig up one discussion on the topic here, I think my vote is "let's wait a while, see where it goes". As someone who has suggested new forums in the past, I see the two decisive factors as 1) volume of posts, and/or 2) people tired of seeing the topic in question pollute their favorite forum ;) For now, if the topic is generic, use General Q&A or Open forum. If more specific, use Networking, Databases, whatever applies. If the volume rises (and I've only heard you and Doug discuss this so far), then a new forum is in order.

My 2 cents.
New well then, as Emily Lattella would often nasally say....
....never mind.
New Nahhn___this stuff ain't set in digital concrete
What's to lose? 3 min of an Admin script?

Who needs all the reasons Why Not? This ain't MAIK-Nauka (Russian Academy of $ciences) Publ. house. And why should someone have to Guess re this rather specific topic's location, one day to the next - further diluting any chance for piquing a bit of interest about the next Rilly-Big Thing ? Huh?

Admin - I second slugbug's nomination. She's earned one. Sans BS.

If it doesn't work out.. it can join Supercomputers - proving that zIWE's so Advanced, we're Retro.
New Don't give up. I support the idea + have contribution

Cheers

Doug

(I previously suggested wifi as a sep forum topic but the response to that idea was similar to the response to your suggestion (doesn't mean we are wrong - perhaps just a little bit to ahead of the masses :-) )

New Bung that stuff in Networking, I wot.
