Welcome to IWETHEY!

New Cinco de Mayo remembered
As indicated earlier this annual event, hosted by a couple who began the tradition when they were lonely California expats in Boston twenty years ago, was held on the first rather than the eighth of the month (it is always on a Saturday), and though the demographic was heavily skewed by an influx this year of soccer parents and the non-appearance of some cherished regulars, it was very well attended indeed, and a pleasant time appears to have been had by all. Of possible passing interest to this forum was the attendance of two sometime IWT contributors (apart from Your Humble Narrator and Only Friend), who show up in five of the eighteen images posted [link|http://homepage.mac.com/rcareaga/aus_pix/PhotoAlbum2.html|here].

cordially,
Die Welt ist alles, was der Fall ist.
New Cool! Good to see K again :)
Two out of three people wonder where the other one is.
New Yah.

New Thanks for the pics
Ashton doesn't quite look like what I expected...

Cheers,
Ben

New Agreed...Would have expected glasses or something
associated with being more bookish that I. (For the record, I do wear glasses...) ;-)

New And every one of us had a different image
I have to admit that my image involved rather more in the way of leather jackets, tattos and a motorcycle...

Cheers,
Ben

New Yo Bro! - I had him pictured as a cross between ...

Fritz Perls, Dennis Ritchie and Bill Joy

Estimated him to be 6ft to 6ft 2ins, pony-tail, beard, characteristicly knowing smile (possibly got that right), twinkle in his eye (can't tell from photo).

But as with others - what an enlightenment :-)

Cheers - Doug
New Wow
Ashton! Just does not match my mental image.
For some reason I pictured someone bald.
New Thanks! Ashton sounds taller. Good to see Self. :-)

...common theme...Karsten and barbecue. Did he bring his own coffee??? :-)

He holds the record for futhest distance travelled to the Beep Bash and I doubt that it will ever be broken. Coast to Coast (and not in a straight line).

Good to see fun being had by all. Soon the east coast contingent (and any and all other comers) will descend on New Jersey and it will be me wielding the awesome power of the spatula :-)

New Re: was Ashe's picture taken pre or post margueritas?
Alas, lashed as I was to a hot stove from 8:00 PM to nearly midnight, I did not have the opportunity to monitor the alcoholic intake of my retinue, who were unable to hover by my post because of the long line of customers awaiting my justly legendary chicken tacos. I can, however, report that neither IWT contributor appeared the worse for strong drink at the time those pictures were taken (about ten past eleven by the clock, as you will observe). I myself had had half a dozen beers by that point, but as I've noticed on a few other occasions, when the beers are going principally in the service of personal refrigeration, "hot stove" being by no means a figure of speech here, their intoxicating effect feels significantly attenuated.

I do regret that Ashton's hat (think [link|http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/tenniel/teaparty.png|Tenniel]) was not captured on a charge-coupled device.

I usually avoid being a grammar/spelling pedant, but you clearly misspelled “should be shot into the sun.”
