So, you could spend $70 to $80 on the wireless PC card and ISA adapter, as well as mess around with downloading and configuring this software (As well as setting up an old machine), or you could buy [link|http://www.netgear.com/products/prod_details.php?prodID=175&view=|this] for $80, and be all set.

New Good thinking, heres even more ...

I have managed to purchase several A/Ps + PCMCIA cards for under $35 complete incl P&H.


This is an example of the ones I obtained only I got them from Just Deals eBay shop ...

I particularly value 802.11a because the Proxim units can do 108 mbs & also 802.11a is on 5 ghz vs 2.4 ghz for 802.11b & g (and 2.4 ghz for the home wireless phone, garage door opener, microwave oven, wireless mouse & keyboard & bluetooth devices)

There are some great bargains to be had re 802.11a but I noticed that Just Deals stopped doing these bundled offerings (prolly cos I was getting too many of them for bargain prices :-)
